Classic. Sweet, Sexy. Love it!

This fragrance is lighter and a bit more 'industrial' than the D&G Light Blue, which I love. It's adequate, but not something I would purchase.

Was not the worst old lady scent I have gotten so far. I can wear this if I am out of the rest of my samples, but it is not one I reach for.

Smells light and floral, not overwhelming

Smelling it is kind of like drinking raspberry tea sweetened with honey. I feel like it’s a versatile scent that you could wear any season. For me personally I’d wear it in both summer & fall. It’s definitely a feminine scent. Initially it starts off loud & mixed, & very vague- like the smell of strip club locker rooms after everyone has applied their own perfumes. But after the first 5 minutes it tames out & there’s a lovely caramel & berry scent that sits close to the skin.

I joined Scentbox to try to find a signature scent, something that matched how I saw myself and how I want others to think of me. I don't care about that anymore. I no longer care if anyone else likes this scent on me or what this fragrance says about me. I am too busy sniffing my wrists or my pillow the sweater I just took off or swinging my hair saucily so perfume wafts out from off the back of my neck. The vanilla note gives The Only One a veneer of civility, a baked-goods innocence that provides cover for this sultry temptress to slide into your olfactory DMs and bewitch you. I used to say I hated vanilla scents, like in candles and body wash. Now I know I was simply waiting for the dark, sweet, musky, vanilla mist of The Only One to envelop and enchant me.

I absolutely love this one! The scent lasts pretty long if you spray it directly on skin, and It's not too girly which I love. I would say it's probably my favorite perfume so far.

This is not gourmand to my nose at all and is very overwhelming. I get sweet, fruity florals, and that’s about it. Opening is EXTREMELY perfume-y and a little overwhelming. It's much fruitier than I expected, and I don't get much powderiness. I find this almost IDENTICAL to Britney Spears' Prerogative, which is also in the Black Opium family and I like much better, but I don't find it to smell like Black Opium as some say. In comparison to Prerogative, the white florals in that are swapped for iris and violet in this. I get zero coffee, caramel, or vanilla.

The ONLY reason she gets four stars is because the longevity is just not there. I get about two hours out of this before I have to reapply if alone. If I do my regular moisturizing technique to get her to last a little bit longer, she can last up to 3 1/2. She smells absolutely divine and I’m not really a designer fragrance kind of person. I am definitely ordering a full bottle of this ASAP.

D&G has never done me wrong????The one OG was always my favorite and this one may top it. It smells amazing all day long and lasts a lot longer. It’s much sweeter so it can be worn during the summer/spring months but I could see getting away with it during winter as well.

LOVE this perfume. Is very "Deep" and powdery, but not in the way that normally comes to mind. This smells like a warm coconut garnished with orange peel and blanded into a powder. I didnt think I wouldl ike it at first but I was pleasantly surprised by the combination. Also it is pretty long lasting, and 2 sprays goes a long way

Love this! I will say, at first I thought it was going to be too powdery for my liking but it grew on me. I feel like the scent smells even better after it's been on the skin for a while. It starts off very warm, ambery and powdery. It is a very strong perfume so definitely go light on the first spritz! It's a mix of powder, amber and maybe chocolate or coffee? Very warm and mature without smelling like a granny.

Blows me out of the water. This is my sensual, romantic date night scent. I use a spritz on my top half and another on the bottom half and it gets the mood going. I feel like coffee cake when I wear this.

Not too strong not too sweet. I'd say this is a great casual daily scent. I pick perfumes mainly for vanilla and although there are other notes I'm not disappointed. I tried the dab method instead of crushing and it helped with longevity. This will be a favorite for at least the next month.

When I received this sent I had no idea what to expect. After trying it, oh my goodness! I’m in love! The sweet undertones compliment my own bodies scent so well. My husband loves the way it smells on me. Definitely need a full size of this one. It’s light and fresh and clean smelling all in one. It’s not overpowering to the senses. Definitely worth a try!

When I first smelled this, it seemed very familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. In the bottle it smells very mature. I was afraid I wouldn't like it and was sure my husband would hate it (he absolutely hates Black Opium!) Once I sprayed it on my skin it completely changed into a very strong neroli scent. Then it hit me, it smells a lot like L'Occitane's Notre Flore Neroli that I used to wear a decade ago. That fragrance is described as Orange Blossom, Neroli, Benzoin, Plum, Sandalwood, Litchi. After a few hours The Only One settled into a beautiful floral, caramel, vanilla latte. Nothing at all like the description states. It lasts a long time on me, one spray is enough, and I can still smell it at night. Surprisingly my husband likes it and keeps leaning in to smell me. I normally don't care for heavy fall/winter scents, but I may just buy a full size bottle of this!

Long lasting. I'm in my 30s and it suits me perfectly. I can wear it to work, church, and running errands. One spritz on each forearm and jugular and I'm good for HOURS. I wouldn't say it's necessarily for parties, as advertised, as I think it's a softer scent. Almost floral, but not "grandma floral." My husband wants to buy me a full bottle for Christmas. Definitely an autumn scent with the citrus notes.

this is a lovely fragrance. It has a hint of marshmallow-caramel sweetness with the initial spray-top notes. Then it fades into a sweet-floral smell. I wish the top notes were longer lasting i love that smell! it fades throughout the day so not super long lasting but would definitely pick this one again!

I loveeeeeee this perfume!!! For the people saying it’s a mature fragrance, they are not lying. I usually do not like anything that would be described as “mature” or “musky” or “old lady” but this has definitely changed my mind on the more mature scents. I’m a big fan of D&G the one so I wanted to try this one see how it compared. It is a very different scent but I have to say it is also really nice. I had previously ordered crystal noir which I returned and exchanged for this, so happy I did.

Since I love the original Dolce & Gabbana, I thought I might try this one and was not disappointed. Actually lasted longer than most I get these days. We need more oil in these perfumes to make them last. Definitely something I would wear for something special. First time I wore it, already got a compliment.

LOVE THIS SCENT! The only downside was that I either got a bad case or it was the perfume itself, but when I sprayed it on me, it totally evaporated and didn’t reach my skin. I sprayed it right on my clothes and it smells great but it left a little stain. Still 5 stars for the scent and may need to buy the whole bottle!

New favorite!

I traded Carolina Herrera's Good Girl for this and I'm very glad I did. This is a really beautiful, sexy but not overwhelming floral gourmand. In the opening, this reminded me of tamarind ice cream from San Juan for whatever reason, which is very fresh and creamy. I pick up on the violet (it says jasmine on this site but violet elsewhere), but it's not the typical powdery candy violet, it's deeper and sexier, probably because of the coffee notes. When it dries down, I definitely pick up on this "caramel latte" scent that's really pretty, but not in a true gourmand way, still in a very "perfumey" way. If you're looking for a real foodie type of gourmand where you want to undoubtedly smell edible, this fragrance is not it, because it does have that "I smell like a perfume" vibe if you know what I mean. But if you're looking for a well blended, sexy, feminine fragrance that sits between a gourmand and a floral, give this a try! I really like it, I don't know if I LOVE it or if it's full bottle worthy, but I am really pleased overall.

This didn’t smell how I expected but it’s still nice. At first spray it smells like a sophisticated mature woman’s business meeting Scent. Strong but soft and feminine. Once it dries it smells like a light powder with a hint of a sexy Smokey floral b its sexy but I think it’sa little too mature for me.

I really do NOT like this perfume. I was expecting something warm and sweet but this just smells musky and almost old man-like. Not at all what I was expecting based on the reviews I'd read. It's long lasting though that is for sure. I sprayed a bit on my wrist when I first got it and I smelled it for HOURS after that, which wasn't a good thing considering the smell isn't one I enjoy. I just don't particularly want to smell like an old man. lol

I wasn't sure I was going to like this one but after wearing it several times I really love it. It's a flirty kind of scent and something I would wear daily. It has a playful kind of scent to it and it lasts a long time which I love. This perfume makes me feel very pretty and flirty.

So far this is my favorite. When I first Sprayed it, my boyfriend and I both were like dang that smells goooodd! It does have a warmer/sweet smell to it but not to where you feel like a teenager. Definitely still a grown and sexy fragrance. It does fade a little quickly but in my opinion they all do!

It’s okay. It’s a nice woodsy and muskier smelling perfume but it’s nothing extraordinary. There’s no bold notes that are head turners. Staying power isn’t anything to write home about either. Acceptable for everyday wear, if you don’t mind carrying it with you to refresh frequently.

I had to revisit this one once or twice before gaining an appreciation for it and now I quite love it. I wore Light Blue for the longest time and Dolce Garden is currently one of my top 5 favorites so I couldn't wait to try this one. It's a beautiful, slightly sophisticated and somewhat exotic fragrance that follows you awhile. Very complex with whiffs of different notes over the several hours it persists. I believe this is full-bottle worthy for me.

I love this one, and I'm pretty picky about sweet fragrances (I usually lean toward clean/crisp scents like D&G Light Blue). I found this one to be warm and caramel-y but doesn't smell like it's for a teenager the way some gourmands can.

This scent smells very good! It’s mature but not old lady-ish. It’s not overly gourmand scented but definitely still has a cozy feel to it. The violet blossom adds a good balance. The reason I’m giving it 3 star is due to the longevity. It lasted maybe a few minutes on my skin before the scent was completely gone. Too bad I really really liked the scent. However many reviews have praised it for its long lasting effects so I guess it just depends on your skin chemistry!

This is one of my absolute favorite scents! I own a full bottle and the Extreme version. If you love Black Opium, this is like its neighbor! Its very similar to black opium but it has more Floral notes in the opening. Its creamy, vanilic, and perfectly floral gourmand for the winter and fall or cool summer evenings. So this is another sweet and powdery scent which I normally don't like. I don't like smelling like a candy store. However, I like this scent decently enough. It has some warmth to the sweetness which helps balance it out. A good day time, running around perfume.

Definitely A more mature scent (30+). Slightly strong at first but not overpowering. Floral then dries to A soft warm gourmand flavor. On my skin it lasts maybe 4-5hrs; on my clothes 8hrs roughly. At first it radiates then it lingers closer to the body. Not sickening sweet but not overly Musky. Not something I would recommend in the warmer months but nice in cooler seasons. I would not consider this to be a fun and flirty scent but more along the lines of a serious, confidence with a hint of playful. I would prefer it to have more silage and longevity but it does a decent job.

Roller coaster scent!! This perfume starts out kind of sweet and floral. Delightful. Then a few hours later you all of a sudden start smelling the coffee. Like... I thought I still had coffee in my cup next to me, but it was empty. No more of the floralness but still sweet where the caramel is coming through as well. It may also be the patchouli. I notice some similar sensations with La Vie Est Belle from Lancome. Which both of these perfumes have patchouli and iris, so maybe it's the combination. I think they both also have vanilla. At first I thought to myself that I probably wouldn't need this one in a full size because I do have a full size of La Vie Est Belle. But then the coffee note came out and it is amazing. Unfortunately, the coffee goodness didn't last long... Long enough for me to acknowledge it and appreciate it. And now it's mostly all gone. I put it on at 6:15 this morning and it's now 11:15 and I've definitely been thinking about applying some more for at least an hour. BUT, it definitely has been a wonderful experience and I understand the hype.

Beautiful fragrance for fall and winter in my opinion. The notes that stand out most to me are caramel, coffee and vanilla. Has moderate longevity and projection.

It’s not a terrible scent, but is very mature to me and just not my style. I pick up only vanilla and woody scents which should be more of the low notes but I don’t get any of the high florally notes. It reminded me of something the old lady at the office would wear.

I like this perfume but it goes on a little too flowery for my taste. It is bold which I like but I like more of the woody smell instead of flowers.

This is my favorite sexy fragrance so far. It smells so good! The perfect balance of coconut, floral, and citrus and It’s quite strong, so the less you spray, the better.

At first, I thought this was going to be a strong floral perfume and could trigger a migraine, but the perfume quickly mellowed out and I began to smell the gourmand sweetness. It's an interesting scent, one that I can actually smell the crisp violets, then the heart of warm coffee and vanilla, yet it rounds out to a crisp, clean scent. If you are buying a perfume for someone that you don't know what they life, I recommend this. It is definitely on my list to purchase!

Right off the bat i will say it can have a strong sweet smell for others for that id go with a 4 star. One or two pumps is good enough. It is a floral and sweet perfume. I can see my mom wearing this so id say mid mid 20s to late 40s... think of jasmine flowers and sweet fruity smell.

This perfume is so nice! It's fruity but sophisticated. Definitely perfect for ages 21-35 I think. The coconut comes through but is not too strong and it doesn't have any of that nasty chemical smell. I feel like it is a bit strong at first, but dries down and lasts for a decent amount of time. For my rating, I'm factoring in the fact that my boyfriend absolutely loves this scent, so I'm definitely a bit biased! ;)

I really think an older sexier big sister to Ysl’s black Opium is the best description for this fragrance. It’s beautiful, warm, and gourmand. I think the Violet note grounds it really well and makes it smell a bit refined and more unique than just sickly sweet. If you love gourmands and want an easy reach this is perfect!

Love this! It makes me feel like curling up in a blanket and cozying up on the couch. It's warm and comfortable. It doesn't match too well with my body chemistry, so I prefer the scent on my clothes rather than skin. When I do that, I definitely notice the coffee and vanilla notes. I'd give it 5 stars if I was able to wear it on my skin and have the same result.

I’m not big on fragrances so I can’t really tell you what the notes are. That aside, I can tell that there’s a vanilla scent to it. I put it on at 11PM yesterday, it’s now the next day at 1PM and I can still smell it on my wrists (faintly) and neck (moderately) so the longevity is really good! It reacts well to my skin chemicals. This is honestly my favorite fragrance I’ve tried.

This is definitely a new favorite fragrance. It’s sweet but not overpowering and mixes great with my natural scent.

First impressions: This smells like pine needles and cough syrup. Resinous, sticky, boozy. On paper, I should like this. I sprayed this on a cardboard tag and when my husband came home, he said "what's that smell?" When he identified it he said, "I don't like that." I told him it was a new perfume I was trying and eventually he said "it's ok. You do you. I'm not a perfume guy." I can't bring myself to wear something that elicits that kind of reaction--even if he isn't a "perfume guy," sometimes he'll say "that smells good," which is enough for me. (Can anyone here relate? Haha) All that to say--I do see why people might like this fragrance. It *is* sophisticated, and has a lot of depth. It's not like anything I have in my collection. Definite fall vibes here; I'm envisioning a well-dressed woman in her 40s with a plush plaid scarf, expensive jeans and leather riding boots at a Vermont cabin at the peak of foliage season, sipping hot toddies by the fireplace with her LL Bean boyfriend.

I really wanted to like this fragrance, but unfortunately, its a miss for me. I tried it out at Ulta in the summer and I really thought it liked it, but upon further testing, I decided it's not for me. On my skin I get a sort of plastic smell in the dry-down, like new Barbie. I get a similar effect with Victor and Rolf's Bon Bon, so my skin apparently just doesn't like some element of fragrances like these. Other than my own skin chemistry, the scent is pleasant, sweet, and crowd-pleasing. It's pretty youthful and flirty, but it could suit a more mature woman as well, depending on her skin chemistry.

I didn't pick up any of the notes that were supposed to be in this fragrance. It didn't smell fruity or floral. All I smell is sweet baby powder and musk. I can't stand it. It's by far the worst fragrance I've received so far. I will see if my daughter wants it.

I have been trying fragrances with coffee notes - because I loved that note in Black Opium, but also found that the opening peppery notes of Black Opium were just overwhelming (for my nose anyway, everyone's different). I'm glad I kept hunting... I love The Only One... adore the coffee note, but it doesn't "scream" coffee either... it's nicely balanced by the other notes. And, for whatever reason, it lasts like crazy on me (and my skin usually gobbles up other perfumes in no time). As others noted, The Only One IS sweet, but it's not overly saccharine-sweet IMO... I think it works! Imagine you're sitting in a nice upscale little pastry shop - there's some small pastries sitting in front of you, each one with a pretty little sugared violet on top, and you're nibbling away on them while sipping on a nice rich cup of coffee. It's that kind of sweet smell - a rich & yummy sweetness with depth. But, it's NOT like a pure sugar hit (e.g., marshmallows, cotton candy, etc.). Though I could imagine it MIGHT be a bit too sweet/syrupy for a really hot, humid summer day. Not sure that's even a criticism though - I just think this fragrance a bit seasonal in nature - fall through spring would be best IMO.

The smell at first was intoxicating but as the day goes on the scent seems to settled and "warm up." Reminds me of cheap perfume. Very sweet smell at first but like I said warms up the longer you wear it. I am not in love with this scent but it's alright.

Very nice fragrance for fall

This smells good but from the reviews I thought it would have been stronger.. and would have lasted a lot longer. My bottle wasn't strong at all and absolutely nobody could smell it on me after 15 minutes... not sure if the heat got to it or what. For the brand I expected a lot more. It was so weak and definitely didn't last me three weeks.

Long lasting soft fragrance

A nice fragrance, but I don't really recognize any of the top notes. There is a slight sweetness, followed by base notes of coffee, vanilla and patchouli. It fades quickly on my skin, lasting a little longer on clothing. For the type of scent this is I really expected more sillage and longevity. It does remind me a bit of black opium, but doesn't command the same attention.

A year ago I would have rated this probably a 5, however now that I am a fragrance collector and am getting into niche fragrances, designer brands just don’t surprise me anymore however that goes without saying that this is a gorgeous fragrance. It’s a gourmand fragrance but it’s very tart. It reminds me of some sort of sour candy but in a very pleasant way. I probably wouldn’t wear this one often since it is a little childish and not very complex, however for ages 13-19 I think is perfect. It’s a tad bit headache inducing so please bare that in mind when deciding on this fragrance.

It’s a really nice scent . It is sweet but no over powering . I do pick up powder in the same way that Prada candy smells powdery , this perfume smells like Prada candy and flowerbomb mixed . Everyone says this perfume smells like Lancôme la vie est belle , and ysl opium mixed but I haven’t smelled opium before . It smells a lot like Prada candy . I’m not sure I pick up the caramel note though the scent didn’t last as long as I’d liked though on the skin, it lasts a little longer on clothes . It’s a bit floral as well I really like it , I wish it lasted longer .

I wanted to like this but I was disappointed. It's really far from the original version "the One" and smells really generic and flowery. Doesn't quite stand out. It's powdery, flowery. Reminded me of something you'd get at bath and body works.

Omg I Love this! ?? Every time I wear it I smell different notes. Right now I smell the orange blossom and jasmine with a warm undertone and yesterday I smelled Carmel and vanilla. It’s sweet and beautiful and such a happy and delightful scent. I wish the scent lasted longer. My 4 year old loves this parfum and always tells me I smell nice when I wear it.

This fragrance is beautiful. It’s not too mature for my liking and is the perfect everyday perfume, meaning I love it, but it’s not too overpowering so that it’d give other people a headache. With that being said, I’m not sure if it is “special occasion” perfume since it’s not so strong.

A little too sweet for me. Has a very familiar smell of many other perfumes, reminded me of Jessica Simpsons Fancy.

warm and sweetly luxurious yet has a floral lightness to it. a cozy scent that wraps around you like a blanket.. if only i could crawl inside the bottle and chill there for a while

A fresh and lovely floral. There's a touch of vanilla in there but not much. This could be worn during any season, but I think fall typifies it best. It's not light, but it's not heavy either. Just wish it lasted longer.

Thee sexiest perfume I've ever smelled . I will make sure I have this for the rest of my life an to NEVER run out. The men's an women's just omg perfect sweet with a dash of peppery sexy an a light flowery Branch to top it off with a twist of vanilla I'm so in love after 25 years of Clinique happy for men & women I now have a new 4ever go too. Love the fragrance. It's an energetic aroma, make me feel playful and sexy. On the downside it doesn't have a great performance, doesn't last long.

It’s ok. I am considering retiring it. Personally a little too sweet for me and lacks the quality I seek in a perfume. I am 42 and I guess this would be ok for a younger crowd. I was expecting something a little more on the spicy side but over all it just did not do it for me. I get 2 premium fragrances a month. And I have to return the other one that came with it. This was the lesser of the two evils so to speak. I tried it one twice hoping I would like it but it has not grew on me yet. It is more on the sweeter side.

Nice - pleasantly sophisticated, but no oomph. I'm normally a single spritzer, I needed 3 pumps to form a happy medium, which seemed to fade quickly. Yet, again, nice, just didn't knock my socks off.

Not my preference, but something that I will wear from time to time.

This is a powdery floral scent that I really love!!! I usually don’t like this type of fragrances, but this one is delicious, it’s strong but not overpowering, it’s also sweet but in a perfect balance to me, I just spray like two times and it lasts all day long!!!

Doesn’t last long and wasn’t a fav, it was too sweet and almost too mature for my taste.

Definitely not what I expected. I usually love oriental scents, as it was described, but this one is very strong. I likely won’t wear it but maybe someone I know will like it.

I was expecting something a lot different honestly, it smells nice but quite mature for me. It’s sweet but a bit powdery, the smell that lingers smells nice but the initial spray is not great.
